I fully believe the Jake can bring about miraculous results if we can get it in the hands of our troops now and not years from now. We must act now! Do it!! Get these on the assembly line.

Let's "take back America" starting with some common sense! We can't just outsource our soldier's best interest like we do everything else.

This is something that is costly, but I feel that with the massive amount of negative media coverage shown throughout the news about body counts, it is a must to help decrease the death toll of our troops in Iraq

I deployed to Iraq and I wish that we had this kind of mobility and firepower with the protection that it provides. This vehicle can save lives and accomplish a multidimensional mission.

This mom wants ACTION from Congress NOW. I don't want to wait another day much less years from now to get the best protection for my Marines fighting this War on Terror. I want to see them inside JAKE, ASAP. Why hasn't it happened already?

A swift change in technology and tactics simply cannot be underestimated. If we take the fight beyond the sacrifice level of the enemy, they will step back and re-think their actions and who they attack. Our Marines deserve every advantage possible!

I was very fortunate to be in the Washington D.C. area and be invited to attend both the Modern Day Marine Expo and the AUSA Conference with my husband Ret. Marine Major Pat Connally, and with our good friend Russ Strong, and able to see for myself all the amazing equipment and technology that our Marines and Soldiers are using over in Iraq and Afghanistan today.
We’ve come a long way since our daughter, a Marine Logistics Officer was deployed to TQ Iraq in 2003 when she was ordering the up-armoring of her Marines vehicles as soon as the sheets of plating arrived into Iraq. And back in 2004 when our son CPL Luke ordered his own sappy plates off the Internet while he was stationed at Haditha Dam Iraq. At that time I was very happy to hear that he was not on foot but inside an up-armored Humvee, although it didn’t stop an Iraqi suicide car bomber from blowing himself up, killing Luke’s friend CPL Zack Kolda and putting Luke in a hospital with severe injuries. And as Lauren came home from her 2nd deployment from Iraq in 2005, we prepared to send our youngest Marine LCPL Daniel over to the Al Anbar Province with his Combat Engineer Reserve Unit. We were happy to hear that he would be riding inside the up- armored Cougar while searching for IED’s, until it needed maintenance one day and he was downsized into a humvee while out on patrol. And sure enough, the enemy waited for the weak link in the convoy and tried to blow him and his buddies up.
All my Marines are home Stateside at present and we are enjoying this break from the stress of our Warriors out in harms way. But soon, my Army nephew will be leaving for his 2nd deployment into Iraq and my best friends son is in the Al Anbar Province and another friends son is on his 2nd deployment and 2 cousins from East Texas have been told they too will be leaving for Iraq sometime this year. And many of them will be patrolling through out the cities on foot, while carrying over 100lb packs.
So this Proud Marine Mom was extremely happy to see the latest and best technology that was designed and built by World renown Companies and by American Defense Corporations and it was all on display at these two amazing shows that I was fortunate and grateful to be able to attend. But as I wondered throughout the halls and isles, gawking over all the massive vehicles and admiring the latest “Toys” our men and women in Uniform have available to help them, I could see that something very important was missing. And it scares me.
With all of todays mighty technology, why must the Marines Corps and the Army’s Infantrymen, our American Foot Soldiers and your Children, still be on their feet? While carrying over 100lbs of gear and at times running for cover. What are we thinking? Why have we neglected to get them the technology that our Pilots, Tankers, Artillerymen and everyone else have already? Are they expendable or any less important to our Nation? Not to we Moms and Dads who are praying for their safe return home. And I’ll continue with my prayers for all our Uniformed Service Members that are in harms way.
But with the “JAKE” system, that Russ Strong and his team have developed, our Military could have more than just our Prayers, with your help this unique and transformational carrier can provide what is missing for our Infantrymen. They deserve the Best from Americans, lets make it happen, ASAP.
God Bless Our Uniformed Men & Women in Service and the Families that stand beside them.
